Paint Protection Film (PPF) in Leicestershire

Paint protection film, usually shortened to PPF, is a clear urethane film applied over your car’s paintwork. It takes the damage your paint would otherwise take: stone chips thrown up on the A6 and M1, grit on country lanes around Leicestershire, and the light scratches that gather around door handles and boot lips. Because the film is clear, the colour and finish of your car are unchanged. You simply keep the paint underneath in the condition it left the factory in.

The film we fit is self-healing. Fine swirl marks and light scratches in the surface of the film close up again with warmth, so the finish stays clear rather than slowly hazing over the way an unprotected bumper does. It is one of the reasons PPF suits daily-driven cars as well as weekend ones.

Coverage is your choice. A clear bra covers the areas that take the most punishment: the front bumper, the leading edge of the bonnet, the wings and the mirrors. A full wrap covers every painted panel on the car. Many owners start with the front end and extend coverage later. Paint damage is expensive to put right and it shows on resale. A respray never quite matches, and a chipped bonnet is one of the first things a buyer or valuer notices. PPF is the only protection that takes a physical impact for you. It is particularly worth considering on a new car, a lease car you have to hand back, or a car in a soft colour or with a delicate matt finish.

Film locks in whatever is underneath it, so the car is thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated before anything is applied. If the paint already carries swirl marks or scratches, we will usually recommend paint correction first so the finish sealed under the film is the best it can be.

PPF and ceramic coating solve different problems, and they work well together. The film protects against impact; a ceramic coating on top adds gloss and makes the car easier to wash. If you would like both, say so when you get in touch and we will quote the combination.

Every PPF installation we carry out is covered by a 5 year warranty. The work is done indoors at our studio in Quorn, under bright hexagon lighting, where there is no wind, dust or rain to spoil an install.
